Part-Time Front of House/Waiting Staff

 

Initial 6 month fixed term contract (which may become permanent after 6 months)

 

16.5 hours per week, 3 days over 6 days, 10am – 4pm, (includes working on certain Saturdays)

 

£7.65 per hour, generous holiday entitlement, company pension scheme (after 3 months service), eligible for NHS Staff Discounts, discounted gym memberships as well as many exclusive discounts with many local companies, services, restaurants, national retailers and websites.

 

 

St. Vincent’s Hospice is a charitable organisation at the heart of the community, offering specialised care and services to all those affected by life-limiting illness.  We deal with patients with all diagnoses – not just cancer, but other illnesses too. Providing palliative and end of life care, our team of specialist, dedicated staff provide care, support, and guidance in our 8 patient bedded unit, our day hospice, and in people’s own homes.

 

We also have nine shops across the Renfrewshire area where we sell a wide range of good quality clothing, along with bedding, shoes, handbags, bric-a-brac, DVDs, CDs and electrical goods.

 

Our tearoom, The Barn, is open to the public and patients for teas, coffees, home baking and light refreshments , situated in the calming and tranquil location of the Hospice grounds.

 

We also sell furniture from our Furniture Unit which is donated by supporters.

 

This position is based within The Barn Tearoom and Furniture Unit which can both be found at the Hospice in Howwood.

 

The ideal candidate should have excellent customer service skills, cash handling experience, a food hygiene certificate, good communication skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask.  This role is very hands on and involves food preparation, serving customers in the tearoom, cash handling, taking phone calls from customers enquiring about furniture items, taking customers to the furniture unit, arranging furniture deliveries, taking payments (credit card and cash), operating an online till and updating the Furniture Facebay page on Facebook.

 

The successful candidate must be honest, reliable and subject to Standard Disclosure Scotland. (this will be paid for by St Vincent’s Hospice)
